Trueform, London E8 1AD, 2025. Cast aluminum. £2000 My practice operates as a form of visual enquiry examining the fragments, artefacts, and outputs of contemporary visual and digital culture to understand how we live within, and against, post-capitalist systems of value. Trueform began with found traces: glue residue left behind after a piece of graphic communication was peeled away a trace stripped of its original purpose, yet still strangely present. I was drawn to how these residues seemed to embody the beliefs artists and designers hold about clarity, function, and "problem solving," almost as if they were talismans of a value system that had since collapsed. Aluminium as the material of interface between digital and physical, it carries a symbolic weight to the contemporary technological society. Working with photogrammetry, 3D modelling, and the assistance of Arch Bronze in London, I translated these traces into physical aluminium reliefs. Each relief acts as a marker for an augmented reality layer, revealing the virtual sculptures generated with Stable Diffusion that hover between physical and digital space. Trueform sits at the intersection of craft and generative technology both processes I think of as mythical as well as transmutational and continues my interest in how purpose, desire, and labour are encoded into the things we make, use, and consume.
